Mark was born and raised in the Philippines. He obtained his degree in physical therapy from the oldest university in Manila, the University of Santo Tomas. He co-authored a review book for the Philippine PT board exams while working in home health and teaching for a couple of years. He then packed his bags and traveled 8,000 miles to expand his horizons as a clinician. Since then, Mark has worked in outpatient and multi-disciplinary rehab settings in New York and New Jersey and has been Director of Rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility in Toms River, NJ. The courses he has attended reflect his core interests in the profession, including joint and spinal manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, taping techniques, vestibular rehabilitation, among others. He believes that an effective therapist is one that understands the root cause of the dysfunction, and addresses such as the knowledge obtained from all channels of education, always keeping in mind the patient’s goals. Mark is now growing his roots in New Jersey, married to his best friend in college, and raising two kids. Off from work, he enjoys shooting pool when he can but mostly loves to hang out with his family, sharing their love of movies, watching sports, history, and Jeopardy-style trivia.
