Joveem Caintic, OTR/L is a New Jersey native, growing up in central New Jersey. He attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick for his undergraduate studies where he studied and received his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science. After graduating from Rutgers, he spent some time working in a sub-acute skilled nursing facility where he gained insight into the profession of occupational therapy. He then went on to volunteer in outpatient rehabilitation to learn about occupational therapy in an outpatient setting. Occupational therapy’s focus on restoring function and improving a patient’s overall quality of life is what led him to pursue a career in the field. He then attended Howard University in Washington DC, where he received his Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy. After graduating from Howard University, he decided to return home to New Jersey. He is excited to join the Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine team to expand his skill set and help individuals restore their functional skills to return to activities that they enjoy. Joveem enjoys playing his piano and guitar, trying out new restaurants, going to concerts, playing tennis, hiking, and spending time with his friends and family during his spare time.
